The largest opposition party, the Social Democratic Party has requested that parliament sets up an investigative commission to investigate Agrokor’s financial crisis. No confidence vote in finance minister added to Sabor’s agenda

The opposition SDP’s request for a vote of no confidence in Finance Minister Zdravko Marić was added to parliament’s agenda today, which means the vote will be held in the next 30 days. The SDP claim Marić is in conflict of interest regarding his close ties to the Agrokor company.

Lex Mercator adopted by Slovene parliamentary committee

The Slovene parliamentary committee for economic affairs has given its support to the so-called Lex Mercator. Slovenia’s new law allows the government to appoint an associate management board member at companies with over 6,000 employees if their majority shareholder becomes insolvent and will prevent the outflow of funds from companies owned by Agrokor that are of systemic importance for Slovenia’s economic stability.
