Easter Monday holiday being observed

Easter Monday is a national Holiday in Croatia. During Easter mass yesterday, Zagreb Arch-Bishop, Cardinal Josip Bozanić said that the strength of the Easter ritual was the transition from the slavery of evil to the freedom of good and that this was reflected in every age and in our daily lives.

Tourism Minister vows to resolve border congestion

Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli has praised the government’s actions in easing congestion along Croatia’s border with Slovenia. He said any existing problems would be worked out prior to the start of the tourism season.

Domestic egg production on steady decline

The Easter holidays have brought to light the steady decline of Croatian poultry farmers and egg production. Over the past three years Croatia has been unable to meet domestic demand, as around 20 percent of eggs are imported from foreign markets.
