PM expects exit from Excessive Deficit Procedure soon

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said on Thursday that the government is expecting good results from the European Commission next week regarding an exit from the excessive deficit procedure, adding that this is a confirmation of excellent economic trends. “What follows is a confirmation of excellent, positive economic trends that can be seen in a continued growth of the GDP and a significant rise in employment. Currently we have 53 000 more people employed than two years ago, unemployment has dropped to below 200 000 people and expectations are that this will be lower during the tourist season”, said the prime minister.

European Parliament President visiting Croatia

The President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, will be in Croatia for an official visit today. Tajani is scheduled to meet separately with Croatian Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković, President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović then Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

Varaždin to host European Under17 Football Championship final

The final of the European Under 17 Football Championship, which is being held in Croatia, will be played in Varaždin today. England faces Spain at the Anđelko Herjavec stadium at 8 pm.
